Position Summary:
The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the position of Long-term Seasonal Plumber & Steamfitter II for the North Region.
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:Ā
Troubleshoots plumbing problems in DCR facilities and takes required actions to remedy situation. Repairs/replaces plumbing issues such as bathrooms, pumps, water supplies, drains, etc; cleans sewers. Consults with contractors, utility companies and other trades personnel. All work is performed under Massachusetts codes.
Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:Ā
Under general direction, the Plumber and Steamfitter II may engage in:
Supervising and installing, repairing, maintaining, and/or altering steam and plumbing systems, sanitary fixtures, sprinkler systems, heating units, steam tables etc by operating power tools, sewer cleaning machines, hand tools and plumbing equipment
Packing joints, valves and pumps
Cutting and threading pipes
Caulking and packing lead joints, valves and pumps
Replacing seals in water closets
Cleaning filters
Unplugging sinks, toilets and drains

Insulating heat tracing wires and/or piping to ensure that equipment is in proper working order and to meet agency needs.
