We are seeking an Aerospace Engineering Intern for Summer 2025! This is a paid, in-person, 12 week internship based out of Raleigh, NC.

As an Aerospace Engineering Intern you will work on tool development projects supporting aircraft conceptual design and analysis teams. Projects will be scoped to be completed within the duration of a 12 week internship. As an intern you will have direct exposure to engineers involved in initial sizing, concept layouts, analysis, performance, trade studies, and concept refinement.

What You’ll Do

  • Receive problem statements, guidelines, requirements, and reporting milestones
  • Independently develop conceptual design tool capability options and generate solutions for approval
  • Work with engineers in respective discipline to implement solutions and help integrate into overall framework
  • Test, verify, and demonstrate the effectiveness of your solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Must be a rising senior at the time of their internship and returning to school at the end of their internship to continue their academic studies for at least one quarter/semester.
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Ability to complete an in-person 12 week internship in Raleigh, NC


Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • Aircraft conceptual design and analysis knowledge and experience through school, extracurricular activities, and / or prior internship(s)
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft design, build, fly projects and / or competitions
  • Strong ability and desire to work on tool development for aircraft conceptual design
  • Strong programming skills in higher-level languages (MATLAB, Python)
  • Skills in 3-D CAD layouts and parametric modeling (NX, Catia, etc.)
  • Exposure to aircraft sizing, trade studies, and Multidisciplinary Design, Analysis, and Optimization (MDAO)

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
