Description

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing the highest level of work, to ensure patients receive the best care when ordering catheters and/or medications. The Pharmacy Technician must communicate any issues to the Pharmacist and/or Manager, and can volunteer solutions to these problems. The Pharmacy Technician should be willing to assist the co-workers, management and physicians as needed. 

  • Complete insurance verification and document amount patient will owe for the order to be processed.
  • Communicate to patient the portion owed and collect payment.
  • Post charges associated with the medication and/or catheter orders.
  • Receive insurance payments for medications and/or catheter orders and post to NextGen.
  • Compare reimbursements received by insurance carriers against the allowable to ensure proper payment received.
  • The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for running daily reports to ensure all payments have been received and orders are processed
  • Responsible for completing the catheter order in a timely manner.
  • Once UROPharmacy receives the catheter order it will be processed by the next business day and mailed out to the patient’s address on file.
  • The coordinator will contact the patient to discuss the order and review any questions the patient may have related to the catheters.
  • The coordinator will keep a copy of the shipping confirmation on file to document the day and time the catheters arrived to the patient’s address.
  • Responsible for completing the medication order in a timely manner.
  • The Pharmacy Technician will contact the patient to collect payment (if payment has not already been collected at the office location)
  • Other misc. duties
  • Must be willing to travel to our Dallas pharmacy for training over several months as the new facility in Trophy Club becomes fully functional later in the year. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Maintains an understanding of the latest techniques and guidelines in the pharmacy
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the rules and regulations that the pharmacy is governed under.
  • Must have interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, co-workers, and others.
