As the Director of Commercial Operations, you will oversee all aspects of commercial landscape operations, from maintenance and installation to team leadership and client satisfaction. This role plays a pivotal part in connecting field execution with strategic business goals, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, train, and supervise landscape crews while promoting a positive, safety-focused culture
- Plan and schedule daily work, aligning labor, equipment, and materials to meet project needs
- Develop and manage project budgets, controlling costs and identifying efficiency opportunities
- Ensure quality standards and safety regulations are met across all job sites
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for service delivery
- Oversee the full lifecycle of landscape installation and maintenance projects
- Manage the maintenance and readiness of landscape equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Oversee inventory levels and material procurement for ongoing operations
- Stay current with industry regulations and ensure compliance with licensing and safety standards
- Support business development by participating in site walks and contributing to project proposals
What You Bring:
- Proven leadership with the ability to inspire, coach, and manage high-performing field teams
- Strong communication skills with a client-focused and solution-oriented mindset
- Expertise in commercial landscape maintenance and construction techniques
- Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and resource management
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in dynamic field environments
- Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in outdoor construction
- Proficiency in project scheduling software, reporting tools, and operational tech platforms
- Self-motivated and collaborative—capable of working independently and across departments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
