Division Overview
Infrastructure Development Engineering is the primary software development arm of Nomura’s Group Infrastructure Services division focused on the development of enterprise-grade tools and products across the infrastructure landscape. The team’s purpose is to support the delivery of technology to the wider business and enable it to succeed. Infrastructure Development Engineering also regularly drives continuous improvement practices for the SDLC aligned with industry trends and the firm’s DevOps strategies.
Role Responsibilties
This is an exciting and challenging role and the successful candidate will be part of a small, highly motivated development team responsble for building, architecting and driving strategy across the Firm’s strategic transformation programs. The team develops numerous applications using modern technologies and Agile SDLC processes and is responsible for setting up their monitoring and deployment automations.
The candidate must be a good team player, highly articulate, and be able to work well in a delivery-focused and technically challenging environment. Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills are particularly important.
Primary services owned by the team:
- A capacity planning framework utilizing numerous datacenter and public cloud Big Data technologies to process billions of metrics 24x7 to deliver across strategic use cases such as:
- near-real-time troubleshooting information and dynamic charting to operations staff
- analytics, forward-looking views and automated recommendations used to drive transformation programs across application infrastructure estates
- Orchestration and integrations central to the Firm’s private, public and hybrid cloud initiatives
- A Developer Portal with distributed, inner-source contribution framework
- A suite of modern, single page web applications and supporting APIs providing access to a wide range of infrastructure data resources
