Are you motivated by defining and guiding change of telecom networks for a sustainable future? Telenor is now seeking an experienced Senior Expert Network to join our Shared Technology Competency Center. 

In this position you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our network infrastructure, with a focus on next generation technologies including 5.xG, Cloud RAN / Open RAN and Open Network architecture. You will have an advisory role, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to various Business Areas within Telenor.  

You will work closely with cross-functional teams on the transition to cloud-based architectures for both Core and RAN and the implementation of AI capabilities into our networks, ensuring the efficiency, scalability and performance our of network, and contributing to the success of our Telecom operations. This requires collaboration with different Telenor Business Areas as well as partners and industry arenas, such as GMSA and TM Forum.  

Some of the main responsibilities: 

• Implementation of strategic directions and architecture principles covering overall network domains applicable for Telenor Business Areas (Telenor Asia, Telenor Procurement Company, Telenor Nordics, Telenor Amp, Telenor Infra). 

• Collaborate with Telenor Business Areas and external vendors to architect scalable and resilient network architectures that meet current and future business requirements. 

• Provide strategic execution support and advisory services to various Business Areas within Telenor on network technology trends, best practices, and industry standards. 

• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of network performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimisation strategies. 

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in telecom networking, and provide recommendations for their integration into our network infrastructure. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, telecommunications, or a related field. 

• Minimum seven years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing. telecommunication networks, with a focus on wireless technologies. 

• In-depth knowledge of Cloud RAN / Open RAN architectures, protocols, and standards. 

• Hands-on experience with network virtualization technologies, software-defined networking (SDN), and network function virtualization (NFV). 

• Proficiency in network performance analysis and optimization tools.
