Intern Master Engineering/Data science:  Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence based simulation techniques (m,f,d)

Summary / Role Purpose

Join the Ansys Student Internship Program to apply your education to solve real world engineering problems, advance career skills and experience work at Ansys. The student intern will be part of the Ansys Customer Excellence team focused on ADAS, Autonomous vehicles and A&D domain. The intern will use the Ansys engineering simulation platform and products to create and apply Ansys simulation solutions in automotive and/or A&D. The intern will get an opportunity to interact with Ansys global leaders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Create new simulation methodologies, troubleshoot problem set-ups, run simulation benchmarks, and update industry best practices pertaining to modeling and simulation of engineered products & processes.
• Perform research and development activities
• Participate in planning meetings
• Interact with other colleagues to get requirements and feedback.
• Create test cases and write testing scripts in Python or C++ to automate the benchmarking process
• Communicate findings with documents and presentations

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Optics/Electrical/Software/Automotive/Aerospace engineering or other technical discipline
• Currently enrolled as a master level engineering graduate student in an accredited university.
• Authorized to work in Germany without requiring sponsorship by Ansys
• Ready to work at the advertised location without requiring relocation assistance by Ansys
• Motivated to learn. Strong problem solving, communication and time management skills
• Demonstrated skills in writing, understanding, and presenting in fluent English
• Experience and/or interest in simulation for AD/ADAS simulation techniques, automated vehicle development, sensor perception development and validation, path planning
• Understanding and hands-on experience with multiple engineering tools such as CAD, or driving simulation software

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Understanding of machine learning as applied to AD simulation techniques and/or decision-making algorithms.
• Familiarity with both “Safety by Design” & “Safety by Validation” concepts
• Familiarity with Ansys software, cloud techniques and with sensor simulation concepts.Knowledge of programming languages – C/C++, Python, Java
