Job Description
Position Overview:
As the Senior Accountant, you will be part of our F&A team in Leuven, Belgium. You will be responsible for the analysis and reporting of the financial information for the Food Business Area EMEA. You will be working with the entire F&A team and you will report to the local Finance Manager.
- You drive the month-end closure, ensure on-time, complete and accurate delivery of group figures, both in local accounting and in group reporting tools.
- Together with the relevant stakeholders you seek opportunities to increase the efficiency of our financial & accounting processes through standardization and automation
- You liaise with the finance community in EMEA to adopt, roll out and drive best practices and built up of shared services where it makes sense
- You manage and control differences between local and IFRS reporting, foresee relevant accruals, prepare analyses & comments on variances with budget and previous year.
- You drive the process for the statutory accounts filing, gather documentation, draft the annual report, liaise with the relevant stakeholders (inclusive external auditors), meet the deadlines, and prepare final filing in full compliance with local requirements.
- You support the Finance Manager with transfer pricing documentation, ensure compliance on these aspects, and help with filing of the relevant statutory and tax obligations.
- You ensure that the Finance Manager has a compelling and educated understanding of the balance sheet.
- You prepare ad hoc analysis on any relevant topic (subsidies requests, tax controls, group reporting, corporate affairs,…)
You support the Business Controlling team and help them understanding balance sheet movements and trends, giving advice on local specificities for the booking of extraordinary or group transactions.
Qualifications
About you:
- Bachelor in economics, Accounting,or similar.
- 3-5 years working experience.
- Experience with ERP software.
- Hands on financial skills.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
