We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our community committed to delivering outstanding care to our residents. As a CMA, you will play an important role in medication administration, fostering meaningful connections with residents, and championing their overall well-being. What you’ll do:
- Assist with the implementation of the prescribed health care plan.
- Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedule.
- Administer PRN medications if authorized by the charge nurse.
- Document all medication administration according to state standards in all areas of the chart.
- Observe and report to supervisor any reactions and side effects of medication administered.
- Take and record vital signs of residents, as required, prior to administration of medications which could affect or change the vital signs.
- See that the medication room, med cart and refrigerator are kept clean and orderly at all times.
- Complete incident reports on all medication errors, accidents, or any other unusual event, on residents, visitors or employees.
- Restock med cart with ample supplies; check expiration dates on all medication.
- Complete narcotic count at beginning and end of shift.
What you’ll bring:

- High School diploma or GED.
- Current Texas Medication Aide Certification.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Minimum one-year related experience preferred, or appropriate formal education or Buckner training.
- Working knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures, including infection control.

- Obtain necessary supplies from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
- Cook breakfast, and/or lunch, and/or dinner meals that are nourishing, palatable and appetizing in appearance using standard recipes.
- Monitor quality of food items during production for taste, smell, appearance, and temperature.
- Prepare meals in a cost effective and efficient manner; utilize food items and equipment in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Obtain approval from supervisor on all food substitutions.
- Maintain meal count and documentation records in accordance with standards as required. Monitor for overproduction and recommend effective and appropriate utilization of leftovers.
- Maintain food inventories and complete requisition forms.
What you’ll bring:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum one-year related experience
- Requires knowledge of and ability to learn food serving, cleanliness and sanitation requirements.
- Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects.
- Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift.
