Software Engineering internship - NLP structuration of large medical databases
RaidiumFranceinternshipVerifiedPosted 12 Nov 2024
About the role
In this internship, you will work to extract precious information from Raidium’s proprietary database of more than 300K exams, which accounts for 130TB of image+text data. These exams feature radiological reports, written by radiologists in free form texts.Extracting structured information is thus challenging because of the variety of possible report structures and medical wordings.
In practice, this internship involves:Use of advanced information structuration technologies applied to the medical domain, such as LLMs+RAG to extract meaningful information from radiological reportsInteraction with doctors and Creation of a front-end to ease extraction of new information directly by the medical researchersProcessing of a huge number of samples, which is a challenging task per se.
Technically speaking, our stack is currently based on React+TS / Python+FastAPI / PytorchYou will work in direct supervision of Raidium’s lead ML and Software engineers. In practice, you will work in Raidium's Parisian offices (in the Cochin Faculty) and have the opportunity to spend some afternoons at our companion center, where radiologists work with CT scans and MRIs!
