Senior Mobile Software Development Engineer in Test– Golden, CO

Allegion is looking for a passionate Senior Mobile Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management.  You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive. 

What you’ll do:  

  • Create range of Automated Frameworks to enable remote testing to interact with electronic locking systems while running on a device farm such as BrowserStack.  
  • Design and Build Automated tests to validate Allegion native iOS and Android mobile apps that communicate with our hardware products and databases.  
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using tools such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest to improve quality, efficiency, and enable faster delivery of high-quality software. 
  • Expertise in languages such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python or JavaScript 
  • Work with Platform and Mobile developers on Design for Test activities. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software verification employees.  
  • Translate functional requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed verification test plan and test scripts ensuring comprehensive test coverage. 
  • Collaborate with Product and Development throughout the SDLC. 

 

What you need to succeed: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent in relevant years of work experience.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mobile software testing and test automation for both Android and iOS native apps. 
  • Expert in conventional QA activities such as contributing to refinement, test case management and defect tracking. 
  • Good technical leadership and mentoring skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Are passionate about testing software and are constantly striving to make software testing more consistent, efficient and reliable.  
  • Knowledge of integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab, Circle CI or Azure DevOps pipelines etc.  
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.  
  • Platform-Specific Skills: 
    • For Android: 
      • Expertise in Android Studio for testing and debugging. 
      • Experience with ADB (Android Debug Bridge) for interacting with Android devices. 
      • Knowledge of Robolectric for unit testing. 
      • Expertise with Android's built-in testing tools
