• • For Service, Technical Support, Marketing & Sales Roles: Additional compensation is available through either an Incentive and/or Commission Plan.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Technical Support Scientist to join our team and play a vital role in providing expert technical support for our analytical instrumentation. In this position, you’ll focus on delivering technical expertise to enhance the sales efforts in the region. Your responsibilities will include assisting with demonstrations, conducting installations, and training customers on product usage.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide technical support during demonstrations and sales calls.
• Perform installations as needed and manage the regional demonstration equipment.
• Provide training to customers and regional personnel on instrument usage.
• Develop application notes and run customer samples to showcase capabilities.
• Work closely with customers to adapt their methodologies for our products.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related life science field.
• Minimum of one year of laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation.
• Prior experience with HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) and GC (gas chromatography) is highly valued.
• Strong communication and customer relations skills.
• Willingness to travel, with a valid driver’s license.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This exempt, full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $90,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Eligible benefits include a 401K matching program and discretionary yearly contributions, with detailed information provided at the final interview stage.

In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days (or state sick leave in California/Puerto Rico), 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you'll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 6
