We are seeking an experienced Principal Frontend Server Engineer to lead with design, engineering, and integration of frontend applications for our in-house Content Management System (CMS).
As the Principal Frontend Engineer for the Xumo Software Engineering Team, you’ll lead the development of frontend application/infrastructure within the field of CMS. The role will require strong skills with frontend development, developing application for allowing users to intuitively and flexible programing with content partners provided video contents, that will be distributed to millions of viewers through streaming devices. To succeed in this role, its necessary to continuously provide clear technical solutions which satisfies the business requirements of the product and operation team.
Position is office based in Irvine, CA- 4 days/week & 1 day/week, virtual.
Position Duties:
Lead architect, design, develop the application for Content Management System
Collaborate with product and operation team to collect requirements for update/new features, and share technical solution using documentation that includes diagrams, that can be broken down as development tasks to share with multiple developers.
Develop new product/feature concepts and deliver prototypes with Product and Operation team. Gather and finalize software requirements based on business and product requirements by translating design and wireframes into high-quality code.
Manage the front-end development.
Design and develop applications with high-quality web solutions that interact and manage scalable content/records through custom built APIs.
Manage implementation for new features and maintaining existing code, designing software solutions that meet the project requirements, refactoring existing code, writing tests, and fixing bugs.
Collaborate with backend server team to manage the APIs to interact and make efficiency with application to operate. Discuss requirements and priorities, best approach, and solution.
Develop and provide technical documents for CMS on both internal and external to explain the specification of interface to interact with servers.
Make decisions about what approach appropriate to solve the business/product problem by extending our feature set, managing a reusable component library, and improving our user experience.
Qualifications
8+ years’ experience of developing UI components and API for a CMS
8+ years’ experience of JavaScript using React.js, Redux, Next.js, and Sass
8+ years’ experience of JS unit testing tools like Jest and Mocha
8+ years’ experience of managing code using GitHub.
8+ years’ experience of implementing apps using web service APIs (REST/SOAP) and HTTP/SSL protocol.
5+ years’ experience of using database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
5+ years’ experience of working with Linux-based opera
