Your Impact
Axon’s Strategy & Corporate Development team focuses on evaluating and executing acquisitions, investments, partnerships and other major strategic initiatives. The team also plays a critical role in formulating the company’s long-term strategic direction as well as in capital and resource allocation decisions. We develop informed positions on big questions that drive the value and long-term competitive advantage of Axon’s business. We are a small but high-impact team and are currently seeking a Director to lead M&A integration. You will work closely with key stakeholders across Axon and externally to to drive value realization from Axon’s acquisitions. The Director will be tasked with developing plans to scale acquired businesses and drive successful execution of strategic, financial and operational value drivers that underpin the business case for each acquisition. The Director will play a critical role in managing cross functional deal teams including Product, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance/Accounting, Legal, and People Operations. This position will report into the Senior Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development. This is a highly visible role in the organization and requires frequent discussions with C-suite and senior leadership at Axon. The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic problem solver, an operational leader, and a strong communicator and influencer. Prior experience leading post-merger integration strategy and execution projects in the technology sector is a must.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from USA OR Onsite at our Seattle USA office
Reports to: Head of M&A Integration
Direct Reports: 0
- Lead the development of comprehensive integration plans encompassing all internal and external stakeholders, and drive the implementation
- Delineate the key strategic, financial and operational value drivers for the deal, set appropriate target metrics, and partner with cross-functional leadership to orchestrate execution against those metrics
- Recognize value realization blockers early and facilitate structured problem solving to develop solutions
- Make key issues and risks visible to senior leadership, and partner with senior leadership for problem solving and decision making on these key issues
- Partner with broader the Strategy & Corporate Development team, stakeholders across the organization as well as externally, in various phases of M&A planning including target evaluation and prioritization, transaction due diligence and acquisition business case development
- Drive continuous learning and organizational excellence in M&A at Axon refining frameworks, playbooks and best practices for future acquisitions
- Take on high degree of ownership, directly framing and influencing Axon’s most strategic decisions with a “win right” attitude
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated track record of leading post-merger integration projects at a top-tier management consulting firm or within Corporate Development or equivalent group at a leading technology company
- High energy with low ego and a “can-do” attitude
- Outstanding problem-solving skills including the ability to define and structure problems, collect and analyze data, and synthesize defendable recommendations into an action plan
- Ability to combine business and operational concepts to lead multi-faceted and highly complex integration efforts
- High degree of business maturity and ability to communicate effectively at senior management levels
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills including comfort with presenting to internal and external executive audiences
- Ability to work seamlessly across teams and with external partners to solve challenging problems
- Ability to manage, prioritize and advance numerous mission critical projects simultaneously combined with exceptional organizational skills
