OnsiteWe are currently hiring a Principal Specialist of Procurement for our Avionics Organization at Collins Aerospace.
Position will be onsite based out of our Wilson, NC site.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a group of suppliers from PO placement through order delivery.
- Managing the supplier relationship and improvement activities
- Forward looking for trends, supplier risks, drop in demands, using procurement tools
- Review critical shortages with the Planner and stakeholders. Work with suppliers to improve deliveries and close gaps.
- Analyze root causes to lead resolution to a permanent fix that will mitigate a repeat of overdue deliveries
- Leads a strategic effort to find solutions to ongoing issues that prevent Buyers from placing purchase orders
- Other projects assigned and directed by Leadership.
- Work with AP to address invoice issues.
- Work with Supplier Quality to address supplier quality issues.
- Procure machined parts, mechanical fabrications (brackets, castings, forgings etc.)
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated Data Analytics capabilities
- Experience with Supply Chain Management/Procurement practices
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or related field
- Preference to have 3 to 7 years of relevant experience
- Prefer 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management/Procurement, Project Management, Business Development, or Customer Support
- SAP proficiency preferred or related MRP system
- Able to read technical drawings and specifications
- Experience purchasing mechanical fabrications
