Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT leader to join our team. This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the specified location(s). No relocation is offered.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise in Java-Based Applications: Possess 10+ years of experience in building and delivering high-volume/high-transaction applications using Java, Spring, and REST. Demonstrated technical proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust solutions.
Experience with Microservices Architecture and Cloud Technologies: Have 8+ years of experience in the architecture and design of systems using microservices architecture and 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Leadership and Management Experience: 6+ years of experience in leading and managing teams, coupled with experience in a leadership capacity, coaching, and mentoring engineers and developers. Strong leadership skills for managing cross-functional teams, driving key initiatives, and ensuring successful project delivery while fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Strategic Thinking: Experience in researching, analyzing, and recommending new technologies and best practices. A strategic mindset to drive architectural and design initiatives.
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of modern middle-tier technologies and frameworks. Expertise in performance tuning, deployment, and production support. Familiarity with build and CI/CD technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, etc. Competence in unit and functional testing tools like JUnit, Mockito, etc.
Team Management: Supervises a target size team of 10 or more IT employees (with at least 4 level 2 employees) responsible for the development and delivery of IT-related work relative to Agile, Application Design and Programming, Business Support, Database, Systems Architecture and Engineering, Systems Technical Support, and Technical Disciplines of Software Delivery Project/Program Management and Technology Security. Coordinates software development lifecycle processes and assists in the coordination, evaluation, and partnership with technology vendors and outside consultants as needed.
Business Collaboration: Works closely with other business areas and IT organizations to identify and quantify business issues associated with specific projects, develop and implement business strategy, and assist in setting strategic technical direction. Provides leadership for projects, including activities such as collaborating with clients to develop business cases, defining business and technical requirements, preparing detailed plans and schedules, calculating resource allocation and assignment, and providing ongoing coordination and tracking of capital and expense funding.
Education:
Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer or Data Analytics nanodegree; or equivalent experience.

Our Assoc Director-Technology II, earns between $174,100.00-$261,100.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
