Job Description

Responsibilities of a Part Time Automotive Technology Instructor include but are not limited to:

  • Lecture and Lab instruction for Automotive courses

  • Courses range from Introduction to Automotive Maintenance to Advanced Diagnostics

  • Provide Lab Safety Training

  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes

  • Provide advisement to students

  • Some program and or curriculum development may be requested

  • Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested

  • Automotive courses are taught at the North Las Vegas Campus, in-person and are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekend

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Required Qualifications

  • Current ASE certifications

  • 5 years of experience as a Technician in Automotive Industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technologies

  • G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair

  • Knowledge of computer classroom technologies

  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce

  • Knowledge in Canvas or other Learning Management Systems

Schedule: Automotive Classes are Scheduled in Mornings, Afternoons, and Evenings, in accelerated 5 week sessions, 8 week sessions, and traditional 16 week sessions.

Salary: $925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
