The Senior Director of Business Development - Energy is a key leadership role responsible for driving the sales strategy and execution across our organization, with a strong focus on advancing our initiatives in Decarbonization, Future Fuels, Renewables, and Grid Modernization. This individual will lead a dynamic sales team, develop innovative market approaches, and foster strategic partnerships to propel our growth in these critical areas. The role will play a pivotal role in positioning our company as a leader in sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, a deep understanding of the energy markets and technologies, and a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with the company’s goals in Decarbonization (energy efficiency, building efficiency, commissioning, retro-commissioning), Future Fuels (including hydrogen fleets and EV), Renewables (offshore wind, utility solar), and Grid Modernization (battery and energy storage).
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and analysis, focusing on sustainable energy solutions and the broader transition to a cleaner energy future.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to adjust sales strategies and ensure a competitive edge.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities within the Decarbonization, Future Fuels, Renewables, and Grid Modernization sectors.
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new products and services, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry leaders.
- Represent the company at local and national industry-specific conferences to enhance brand visibility and client engagement.
- Conduct regular client visits and presentations to maintain strong relationships and address any client concerns or requirements promptly.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
- Oversee daily sales activities, ensuring efficient operation and achievement of sales targets.
- Prepare and present comprehensive sales reports to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Utilize CRM systems to track sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
