Description
St. Croix Health is looking for a full-time (0.8 FTE) Pharmacy Technician to work in our retail pharmacy located in St. Croix Falls. Typical base schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift and part of a Saturday rotation.Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the Pharmacists in preparing and distributing drugs, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians work only under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Process Prescriptions
- Receives prescriptions or refill requests and verifies the information is complete and accurate
- Process prescriptions to insurance
- Prepack bulk medications, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and affix labels
- File prescriptions
- Mix pharmaceutical preparations, according to written prescriptions
2. Medication Stock and Inventory
- Stock outs
- Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs
- Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, or supplies and update inventory data in computer
3. Customer Service
- Assist customer by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information
- Answer telephone inquires
- Assist with operating the cash register to accept payment from customer

Requirements
Education & Licensure:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is required within six (6) months of hire
- Must be registered in Wisconsin to work in a pharmacy at time of hire
Experience:
- Retail Pharmacy experience preferred
