Staff Software Engineer, Android Systems

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience in software development.
  
• 5 years of experience in low level systems programming languages (e.g., C++ or C).
• 3 years of experience with Android application development.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with operating systems, computer architecture, embedded systems and Linux/Unix kernel, etc.
• Experience coding in Rust.
• Experience with System Software in any of the following areas - ARM/ARM64 architecture, compilers, firmware, Operating systems, Linux kernel, file systems/storage, device drivers, performance tuning, networking, tools, tests, virtualization, platform libraries, etc.
• Experience developing and designing large software systems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities

• Work on core system components including Memory Management, Scheduling, Power, Storage, Virtualization, Networking.
  
• Create and ship Generic Kernel Image for billions of devices.
• Scale development across a growing number of verticals (e.g., Wear, Auto, TV, large screen, etc.).
• Contribute to various open source projects, such as Linux Kernel, STG, AOSP, LLVM, LTP.
• Create and maintain a reliable, secure and foundation for the Android software ecosystem.
