Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Product Development Quality Intern at our Noblesville Technical Center (NTC) in Noblesville, Indiana.

The Product Development Quality Intern will help support the Quality Team in our prototype area, in which electric rotating products and processes technology are developed.  This role will assist in the development of product/process control documentation, process capability/validation, process-to-product correlation, and verification of measurement methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality personnel with the development of:
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)
  • Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Control Plans
  • Work Instructions
  • In-Process Check sheets
  • Assist in developing transition from paper-based documentation to digital.
  • Assist in the completion of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for any/all measurement devices used in the manufacturing and final inspection of the product.
  • Potential to lead projects/initiatives based on skills and experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Undergraduate collegiate student focusing in one of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, quality, or Organization/Business Management
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Understanding of basic electro-mechanical principles preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Familiarity with Minitab preferred.
  • Ability to routinely work in a hands-on manner.
  • Ability to work relatively independently, with instruction.
