Title:        Automotive Quality Engineer

Location: Livonia MI

Duration: Full Time

 

Job Description:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Quality Engineer to support production line operations. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years' experience and strong expertise in quality methodologies, process control, and problem-solving to ensure robust manufacturing and product quality. This role requires an individual who can manage production line quality activities, drive continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with quality standards.

 

Your Role

 

  • Oversee quality aspects of the production line, ensuring processes meet company standards.
  • Apply GD&T principles effectively in design and inspection.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including calibration and gage R&R.
  • Validate process controls and production stations for compliance and robustness.
  • Perform data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify trends and prevent defects.
  • Lead and document 8D, Root Cause (RC), and CAPA problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain detailed quality documentation and reports using Jira and other systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, suppliers) to drive quality improvements.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Your Skills and Experience

 

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and practical application in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in MSA, calibration methods, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience with process control and station validation.
  • Solid background in SPC, 8D problem solving, RC, and CAPA.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills, including use of Jira.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
