Tenure Track Assistant Professor Department of Speech-Language Pathology

William Paterson University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology within the College of Science and Health. The start date for this position is August 27, 20225.

This position reports to the department chairperson, and includes teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, research and scholarship, service, and appropriate activities to support student success.

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and a student training experience within the department’s speech and hearing clinic. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Twelve credit hours per semester, reducible with external funding such as grants
• Teaching in-person, hybrid, and/or online coursework
• Course delivery, development, and assessment
• Support the academic success of students
• Engage in formal and informal department assessment of student learning and programming
• Participate in a variety of service opportunities at the department, college, and university levels.
• Contribute to scholarly activities appropriate to the discipline resulting in scholarly publications and presentations

Required qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences or a related field.
• ABD will be considered with degree completion by the next contract renewal period on March 1st of the year following hire.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and eligibility for New Jersey Licensure
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teachingDemonstrated research agenda and potential for ongoing scholarly productivity
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduate students from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation college students.
