Job Description

Your contribution to something big: 

As part of the Software Excellence Team (from a central function of EPM-SW Engineering Product & Process Management for Software) you will work on ways to increase standardization and automation in software development in close collaboration with all development teams at Home Comfort (HC). The focus of your work will be around the development, maintenance and user support for the tool topics with respect to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) toolchain based on Jira.

• As Consultant you will work on proof of concepts in the context of our Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool chain and defining solution concepts based on our developers needs.
• You implement prototypes and automation scripts (in Groovy, Java, Python, …), validate the concepts together with the development units and support the continuous improvement of ALM.
• Get to know the tools and processes from end-user and administrator perspective and work on Jira System Administration topics such as customized / scripted settings, automation jobs, workflows, …
• Furthermore, you develop automation test suite for Jira functions (using python), give 1st Level support to our developers and support the ALM project team in defining guidelines and solutions.
• Last but not least you extend and maintain the knowledge database for our internal software development tools (e.g. Bitbucket, Sonarqube, Jenkins, …).

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

• Education: studies in the field of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business informatics, Information Systems or comparable
• Experience and Knowledge: experience in software development and/or development tool infrastructure handling; safe in handling one or more programming language (e.g. Java, Python, …); familiar with multiple aspects of Software Engineering (designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining software) and with usage of MS Office tools as well as knowledge of Atlassian tools JIRA including Jira System Administration, Jira SDK, API; of tools such as Bitbucket and/or Confluence; Knowledge of Machine Learning is a plus
• Personality: strong communication and coordination skills, ability to quickly analyze, understand and describe complex problems, proactive and highly self-motivated as well as open and creative towards new technologies and possible solutions
• Working Practice: result oriented way of working and willingness to steer discussions
