Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced certified nursing assistant for our Med Surg unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Med Surg nursing assistant you will:
• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, performs various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
• Follows the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Receives report from the Registered Nurse
• Ensures a culture of safety
• Unwavering focus for excellence
• Identifies resources necessary for safe delivery of patient care
• Appropriately utilizes resources
• Identifies and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
• Ensures work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately
• Conducts purposeful hourly rounding and reports any changes to primary Registered Nurse
• Consistently utilizes AIDET
• Responds to all call lights and patient needs without delay
• Adheres to all patient safety and infection prevention practices

Qualifications include:
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Maryland CNA license required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One year of current experience in a hospital environment with strong computer skills

Work Schedule:

Day shift shift 6:45 am - 7:15 pm 3x/week with every other weekend rotation

Pay Range:

$18.31 - $24.90

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:

United States of America (Non-Exempt)
