About the role

<p>Three postdoc fellowships are now available in the Section for Inorganic Chemistry at DTU Chemistry, Technical University of Denmark. The section is an application-oriented research strategy that currently employs about 20-25 PhD students and postdocs internationally. </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities and qualifications</strong><br/> We seek an ambitious person who is willing and able to contribute to and shape the group's long-term work on designing nanomaterials for heterogeneous catalysis.</p> <p>Our research focuses on C1 Chemistry and catalysis for the sustainable production of fuels and chemicals. The postdoc projects aim to synthesize and test materials that are highly active in selective catalytic CO2 hydrogenations.</p> <p>You will synthesize well-defined nanoparticle catalysts and test their activity in various gas-phase reactions, including reverse water-gas shift, dry reforming, and CO2 methanation. Furthermore, you characterize the materials using various ex-situ and in-situ techniques and draft scientific publications.</p> <p>Participation in supervising students from the bachelor's to PhD level will be an integrated part of the job, and the acquisition of teaching experience is expected and supported.</p> <p>In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to </p> <ul> <li>scientific production and research potential at international high level</li> <li>innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas</li> <li>the ability to communicate scientific results at all levels</li> <li>an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience</li> <li>the ability to contribute to the development of the department’s internal and external cooperation</li> <li>ability and willingness to attract funding</li> </ul> <p>Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in chemistry or chemical engineering. The candidate should have a strong background in experimental chemistry and commitment to research. The ideal candidate has a background in catalysis, inorganic chemistry and synthesis of nanostructural materials and zeolites.</p> <p>Candidates should have the ability to work independently, to plan and carry out complicated tasks, and to be a part of a large, dynamic group.
