Our 400+ Sievonians are based in Helsinki, Chicago and Bucharest. </p> <p><strong>Engineering Manager </strong></p> <p>We are looking for an <strong>Engineering Manager</strong> to lead a Helsinki-based full-stack engineering team responsible for a critical customer-facing product of our procurement analytics suite. You will be the direct manager of a development team and partner with a Product Manager to drive a significant value for our customers and a measurable business impact. </p> <p>As an Engineering Manager, you will have the overall responsibility of the delivery, technology, and people in your team. You will guide your team to produce high-impact outcomes and keep improving the team’s execution. Partnering with your Product Manager, you ensure that the team’s efforts are where they make the highest impact for our customers and for the business. You will support and motivate your developers to pursue a growing level of performance and career growth. While you have the overall responsibility of your team's technology, you drive towards empowering your developers to make the right technical choices. </p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p> <ul><li>People management responsibilities, including inspiring, empowering, and coaching the team members to achieve a high level of technical expertise, productivity, and efficiency. </li><li>Ensuring that the team understands the business domain and defines the solutions and technical architectures that solve the correct problems.</li><li>Ensuring that the team's services run smoothly in production and meet the expected level of maintainability, security, usability, reliability, and other quality requirements.</li><li>Defining, running and continuously improving the agile software development process and day-to-day practices of the team.</li><li>Ensuring crisp execution and clear alignment with stakeholders regarding dependencies, timelines, and progress.</li></ul> <p><strong>We're looking for someone who</strong></p> <ul><li>Wants to exceed the expectations for the performance and impact of the team but is also keen to maintain our inclusive and supportive, healthy work environment. </li><li>Has experience of engineering management or technical leadership roles and enjoys helping others to succeed.</li><li>Understands the day-to-day work of a software developer through a technical background or other extensive experience working with a development team.</li><li>Has a good understanding and practical experience of agile software development principles and methodologies and can guide the team towards iterative and incremental, data-driven development.</li><li>Excels in communication and collaboration with other engineering teams, product management and business stakeholders in English.</li><li>Has a good understanding of modern cloud technologies and SaaS development, possibly having been worked with Azure or other Microsoft technologies.</li></ul> <p><strong>What it's like working at Sievo</strong></p> <ul><li>You’ll get to build the leading procurement analytics software that helps a rapidly growing number of Fortune 500 companies across the globe to understand and optimize their spend and supply chain. </li><li>A chance to guide the professional growth and future career direction of highly motivated and talented engineers.</li><li>One of the coolest offices in the heart of Helsinki – or if you prefer, a flexible hybrid working model.
