POSITION SUMMARY:
Milliman’s Employee Benefits Consulting (EBC) practice provides retirement and benefits solutions for U.S.-based corporate, public sector, and multiemployer plans.
The Director of Marketing will oversee marketing, sales support activities, and client relationship management (CRM) for the practice with a particular focus on driving strategic marketing initiatives and positioning the Milliman EBC brand for significant and sustained growth. The position will manage a small team of marketing and sales support professionals and work closely with the corporate Marketing and Communications team.
The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate business acumen and a deep understanding of the employee benefits industry, a results-oriented mindset with a commitment to and track record of driving business growth, and a background leading a professional services marketing function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with leaders to align marketing initiatives with business priorities, service offerings, and target markets
- Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and EBC leadership on quarterly marketing planning to support the growth of the EBC business
- Manage the existing team of EBC marketing and business development professionals
- Refine strategic marketing plans throughout the year based on market dynamics, emerging trends, and performance metrics
- Create engaging and relevant content that elevates Milliman’s EBC brand across all marketing channels
- Update the EBC website content to enhance engagement, with a focus on both Search and Generative Engine Optimization
- Work with cross-functional project teams to develop and deliver campaign concepts, messaging and assets that resonate with the target audience
- Collaborate with the Event Strategist and Events team to provide strategic event support and coordination
- Hone best practices around RFP responses, finalist and client presentations
- Identify deficiencies of current processes, approaches and team members and work with the appropriate team member to improve
- Facilitate cross-discipline category marketing activities with other Milliman practices
- Assess the use of marketing technology to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to realize economies of scale
- Collaborating with the media and publishing teams on media and content strategy
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, including lead generation, conversion rates, website traffic and ROI, to measure and optimize the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
- Manage the EBC marketing budget and accurately report on marketing spend to key stakeholders
- Stay current with competitive landscape industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovative marketing techniques to continuously improve and evolve marketing strategies and tactics
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- The ideal candidate must have 15+ years of employee benefits marketing experience is preferable, ideally gained within a professional services environment.
- The ideal candidate must have 10+ years of managerial experience.
- The ideal candidate must be results-oriented mindset with a commitment to and track record of driving business growth through integrated marketing campaigns.
- The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative campaign strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement and conversion across multiple channels, including digital, social media, email, content marketing, events and traditional media.
- Must be a creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and ability to craft compelling content that resonates with target audiences.
- Must have strong analytical skills and proficiency in marketing analytics tools and platforms to track performance, analyze results and derive actionable insights to optimize campaigns.
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills, detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to consult with senior leaders, inspire and motivate colleagues.
- Must have open and collaborative mindset.

COMPENSATION:
