Job Summary

This position is responsible for any repairs that require welding for all production equipment and facility related needs. This team member will also make and repair tools and racks for product handling. This team member needs to be able to effectively work with members of management, operations/production personnel, as well as various contractors if needed. The team member is to be proficient in power transmission-type repairs. The team member will also be participating in our in-house and external training program, and other skill development in all areas of the maintenance department. Team members should be self-motivated, multi-tasking, and able to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform and complete preventative maintenance, and repairs of plant production equipment including but not limited to:
  • Mechanical repairs:
    • TIG welding stainless steel.
    • Purge welding stainless steel.
    • MIG welding other metals.
    • Operate large power tools such as a drill press, bandsaw, mill, and lathe.
    • Bearings, sprockets, conveyor systems maintenance.
    • Interpret blueprints/schematics for equipment fabrication-related activities.
  • Able to interpret and understand procedure manuals.

• Timely repair of plant equipment/systems with precision maintenance techniques as necessary to meet production rates and maintenance downtime goals.
• Data entry daily into current CMMS system including preventative maintenance records, and inspection generated work orders for future work.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including all safety protocols and company policies.
• Responsible for doing their part to keep the shop clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
• Comfortable operating at high elevations if needed
• Ability to lift or move 75 pounds.
• Ability to withstand changing environments.
• Ability to operate an aerial lift and sit-down forklift.
• Basic computer skills required.

Education

• High school diploma, Industrial maintenance card or journeyman’s license preferred.

Experience

• 1 year industrial weld experience required.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills will be necessary to log information, to process daily work orders and to complete required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills are necessary to perform this job at a satisfactorily level

Schedule

• Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • 1st shift 6:00AM – 2:30PM Mon - Fri
  • Up to 2 weekends per month (Sat and/or Sun)

Travel Requirements

• Approximately one week travel per year for technical and safety training.

Pay

• Hourly wages up to $30.00 an hour with a yearly wage review. Up to $3,000.00 sign on bonus.
