Job Details
Performs variety of neurodiagnositc studies, both recording and analysis to include various forms of EEG both in the clinical lab and in the O.R, all modalities of evoked potentials, transranial doppler studies, long term monitoring for evaluation of epilepsy to include inpatient as well as ambulatory patients and a variety of specialized procedures in the clinical laboratory, O.R. or at the bedside of critically ill patients in the various intensive care units. Provides care that is appropriate to the specific chronological age, developmental age, social maturity, and cultural background of the patient (s) being treated or serviced.Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Performs evoked potential procedures, including BAEP, VEP, and SEP
- Records EEGs in OR, and assists with training of residents and junior medical staff.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the hospital.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of an END technology educational program, which has been recognized by an accredited agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education preferred.
Certificates/Licenses Requirements:
- EEG (R.EEG.T) Preferred
- Evoked Potentials (R.EP T) Preferred
- CNIM (ABRET) Preferred
- Polysomnograph (R.PSG.T) Preferred
Years of Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience in performing neurodiagnostic procedures. Two of these three years of experience in advanced neurodiagnostic procedures as outlined in the job duties and competencies section under the direction of a boarded Electroencephalographer.
- Experience with a variety of computer platforms for neurodiagnostics, audio/visual and computer equipment and other electronic devices and their applications as related to neurodiagnostic procedures.
