Position Summary:
Mobile Technician II is responsible for maintaining and supporting the operational readiness of company vehicles, trailers, and equipment. This role involves safe transport of materials and equipment, performing regular maintenance and repairs, managing inventory at the laydown yard, and supporting field and shop staff as needed. A current CDL and strong mechanical aptitude are required.
Technical skills:
• Follow directions from the Equipment and Facilities Department.
• Transport equipment, vehicles, construction materials, and parts to/from job sites and vendors using company vehicles (with or without trailers).
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely and in compliance with company standards and DOT regulations.
• Maintain a valid CDL and demonstrate safe driving practices at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and functional equipment yard.
• Inventory and organize construction materials, caps, plugs, tools, and equipment.
• Load/unload materials as requested and ensure accurate tracking and delivery.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and trailers (e.g., oil changes, lube, filters, small engine repairs).
• Complete software updates and maintenance on side-by-side vehicles.
• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment (CAT); report or perform necessary service and repairs.
• Transport vehicles and equipment for off-site service or repair.
• Assist other team members and departments as needed.
• Pick up parts, supply, or deliver/pick up vehicles and equipment.
• Support team logistics for job site readiness and efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, disposal, and cleanup of hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
• Current and valid CDL
• Strong knowledge of safe tool and equipment operation
• Familiarity with software used for side-by-side (Can-Am) maintenance
• Ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed
• Proper use of PPE and adherence to safety standards
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean and organized workspaces
• CAT Equipment, Can-Am side by side and Ford vehicles
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with fleet maintenance
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills Previous experience in a construction or field services environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment:
• Outdoor and indoor work in varying weather conditions
• May involve frequent driving/travel and use of heavy equipment
• Occasional overtime or weekend work as needed
