MAX-R is a 30-month IA that will define, develop and demonstrate a complete pipeline of tools for making, processing and delivering maximum-quality XR content in real time. The pipeline will be based on open APIs, open file and data transfer formats to encourage development and support the integration of new open source and proprietary tools. MAX-R builds on recent research and advances in Virtual Production technologies to develop real-time processes to deliver better quality, greater efficiency, enhanced interactivity, and novel content based on XR media data.

Within MAX-R UPF-GTI has been researching and implementing a tool to create XR content in XR, ROOMS, based on a novel graphics engine based on WebGPU, wpgu.

Main research field: Computer Graphics (eXtended Reality, GPU programming)

Tasks to be performed:

The tasks to be performed will be, on one hand, the consolidation and diffusion of the research and development carried out by UPF-GTI within the MAX-R project after the project finalisation end of February 2025. They are related to the ROOMS application and the wgpu engine; and, on the other hand, the support to an optimal integration of the different research and development of the GTI with the novel graphic engine.

The duration of these tasks is estimated over a period of 6 months.

Group and complement: Group 2 Level g

Dedication and working hours: Part time (30h/week).

Planned remuneration approx: 36.792,04 € gross per year

Qualifications

Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree.

The expected start date is March 1st 2025, the job is in Barcelona.

Selection criteria: The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:

1- Academic Training (0-35 points).

• Degree in Computing or similar; Master in Computer Graphics or similar.

2- Other professional training and experience, adequacy to the proposed profile (0-45 punts/ points):

• Deep knowledge of ROOMS and wgpu engine.

• Knowledge of the different recent research and development of UPF-GTI.

3- Other merits (0-20 points):

• Other computer graphics experience.

The minimum score to pass the selection process is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job.
