At AECOM we are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Manager – Data Center Projects to join us at our Dublin office.

Here’s what you’ll do: 

We are seeking a highly experienced Commissioning Manager to lead and oversee the commissioning process for a hyperscale data center project. Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy team, the Commissioning Manager will serve as the key interface between design, construction, and client stakeholders, ensuring all systems are delivered, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Lead and manage the full commissioning lifecycle (Cx) from pre-design through to handover and post-occupancy verification.

  • Develop and implement project-specific commissioning plans and schedules.

  • Coordinate commissioning activities for all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, BMS, etc.).

  • Interface with client, general contractor, vendors, and internal design teams to validate commissioning documentation, including FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing.

  • Review and approve commissioning test procedures, method statements, and QA/QC records.

  • Manage third-party commissioning agents and specialist vendors.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute Tier Guidelines, ISO, etc.) and local regulations.

  • Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting processes, including issues tracking, test results, and punch list management.

  • Facilitate lessons learned and close-out documentation for continuous improvement.

  • Provide technical guidance during troubleshooting and resolution of issues during commissioning.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.

  • 7+ years’ experience in commissioning, preferably on large-scale data center or mission-critical projects.

  • Prior experience working with or for a consultancy or owner's representative is highly desirable.

  • In-depth knowledge of building systems and commissioning best practices.

  • Familiarity with commissioning tools/software and industry frameworks (e.g., CxA, LEED, BREEAM).

  • Strong understanding of data center operational requirements including redundancy, reliability, and uptime targets.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and commissioning agents.
