Engineering Manager - Delivery & Satisfaction Squad (f/m/x) - remote

For our Delivery & Satisfaction squad, we seek an experienced Engineering Manager (f/m/x) with a robust background in designing and implementing backend services. Our tech stack includes Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and GCP/Kubernetes for the backend, as well as Vue.js, Alpine.js, and Tailwind for the frontend.
About the squad: The Delivery & Satisfaction squad manages all post-purchase logic presented in the customer area.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

Engineering Leadership & Team Building

• A strong and accepted leader with 5+ years of experience managing senior backend engineers.
• Proven ability to grow teams, build relationships, earn trust, and retain strong engineering leaders while managing performance effectively.

Technical Expertise & System Design

• Deep knowledge of designing and implementing backend services.
• Significant experience in designing robust, high-scale systems by encouraging engineers to develop generic, scalable solutions.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design.
• Experience in software development using the Go programming language.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

• Experience working with remote, multi-functional teams to deliver complex, cross-domain solutions.
• Skilled in collaborating with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and address critical challenges.

Engineering Culture

• Ability to maintain a strong engineering culture focused on reliability while aligning with business priorities.

Educational Background

• Formal education in Computer Science or a related field.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Technical Leadership & Quality of Delivery

• Provide insights to squad members and other engineering and business stakeholders.
• Regularly review code submissions and participate in technical design discussions.
• Build and maintain our main APIs and backend services related to squad scope topics.

Collaborate on Feature Development

• Work closely with Product, Business, and Engineering leadership to design and develop new features that enhance the user experience for our customers.
• Facilitates collaboration within the team, identifies and solves blockers and conflicts between people, and detects possible problems early.
• Contribute to company and squad planning, defining roadmaps, and short-, mid-, and long-term squad strategy.

Communication & People management

• Be an active member or drive internal squad meetings.
• Conducts frequent 1-1s to keep your team happy and healthy.
• Empower your directs to unlock their potential and support their personal and professional growth.
• Actively inform your manager and engineering leadership about squad initiatives and their status, and proactively surface problems.
