Senior Systems Engineer, V&V HIL

Mission Summary:

The Senior System Engineer for V&V HIL, will be responsible for developing and executing the functional test plans for the Drive by Wire System of the Autonomous Vehicle. This will require a good understanding of Autonomous Systems and applying best Systems/V&V practices for the release of a safety critical autonomous product. This will involve understanding System Architecture, providing feedback on System Requirements, ensuring test coverage, and developing efficient automated tests.  This highly motivated individual will work in tight conjunction with cross functional teams (Safety, Autonomy Drive-by-Wire, Program Manager) and work towards enabling delivery of a safe Robotaxi system.

What you'll be doing:

• Analyze, review, and approve system requirements for the Drive by Wire System

• Develop comprehensive test procedures that fully verify and validate System requirements for maximum coverage and design documentation

• Develop Automated test scripts in dSPACE/Vector HIL Bench Environment

• Execution of test scripts supporting the Drive by Wire SW release

• Take ownership of the SW module, from developing the test plans to the execution on HIL for V&V coverage

• Debug HW/SW issues on the HIL Bench 

• Provide Root Cause analysis of failures and create detailed documentation of the issue and provide resolution

• Perform Results/Data analysis from HIL bench logs

• Work with Program Manager on creating HIL test timelines and pivot project plans based on Product timeline

• Create a report of overall test execution and communicate with relevant stakeholders

What we're looking for: 

• Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace, Robotics, or related field

• Minimum 4 years of HiL/Vehicle testing experience on complex engineering systems 

• Passionate engineer and highly motivated learner with an insatiable drive to V&V complex systems

• Understanding and knowledge of V&V best practices for product testing

• Strong foundation in testing with experience working at HW and SW level 

• Ability to learn complex systems and develop a robust test framework for a complex engineering system

• Experience with functional test plan development, test execution, debugging and issue reporting

• Experience working in a dynamic work environment  with ability to pivot project plans based on Program timelines

• Knowledge of Python, Matlab/Simulink, and/or CAPL

• Test cases development from requirements and driving test execution

• Experience with Fault Injection testing on complex engineering systems

Bonus Points (not required):

• Education: MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical,Aerospace, Robotics, or related field

• Experience working in complex engineering projects where standard Systems Engineering and V&V Best practices were followed

• Experience working on HIL Bench setups

• Familiar with MATLAB, SIMULINK, Python, CAPL and knowledge of dSPACE and Vector SW toolchains 

• Knowledge of test case creation from the Requirements and ability to automate the tests

• Strong background in HiL/Vehicle testing of complex systems

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for communicating complex technical issues to stakeholders
