Windward is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Implementation Specialist to lead complex implementations for both government and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional customer-facing skills.Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end ServiceNow SPM implementation projects, from initial discovery through deployment and post-go-live support.
- Conduct business analysis sessions with clients to understand strategic goals, portfolio management needs, and process improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Design and configure solutions within the ServiceNow SPM suite, including Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management, Resource Management, and Agile Development.
- Deliver tailored SPM solutions that align with client objectives, ensuring scalability, usability, and compliance with standards (e.g., FedRAMP, DoD IL-4/IL-5).
- Define user stories to support technical implementation of both SPM greenfield and enhancement projects.
Provide technical mentoring and guidance to internal teams and client stakeholders, including providing technical leadership for a small team of implementation specialists or developers. - Manage platform infrastructure and ensure smooth operation of SPM and PPM processes.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, bug fixes, and root cause analysis to maintain system integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead technical solution design sessions and ensure successful delivery.
- Contribute to process documentation, training materials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid development methodologies across diverse client environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of IT software consulting experience, with 3–5 years specifically in ServiceNow implementations.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting.
- Deep understanding of Strategic Portfolio Management concepts, including demand, ideation, resource planning, and prioritization.
- Proven experience implementing ServiceNow SPM for enterprise clients.
- Expertise in software discovery, normalization, reconciliation, and optimization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Certified Implementation Specialist – Strategic Portfolio Management (CIS-SPM)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer Certification
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- ICAgile or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience with government contracts and implementations
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid development methodologies
- ITIL v3 or v4 Certification
- Additional ServiceNow certifications in areas such as ITOM, SecOps, GRC, or ITSM
