The Peacock Sports & Entertainment group is looking to add an iOS / tvOS software engineer to the team of engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences across the NBC branded applications. You will become a part of a team that builds and supports mobile and OTT applications delivering content to millions of users.

The Peacock Sports & Entertainment team builds dynamic software using cutting-edge technology to deliver performant applications focusing on user experience. We are looking for a team player who is an owner, accountable and passionate about technology. You will be working on high-visibility applications serving millions of users for industry-leading sporting and entertainment events, such as the Super Bowl, Olympics, Saturday Night Live and America’s Got Talent. You will have an important role in the development and architecture of mobile and OTT applications delivered on Apple platforms. Every member of the team works with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

What the Team Does

• Creates and maintains mobile and OTT applications across the branded NBC Universal ecosystem.
• Collaborates with product and other internal teams to drive innovation and improvements across the stack, including video delivery and user experience.
• Explores new technology, showcases the capabilities of Apple platforms, develops POCs, and balances innovation with performance and resiliency.
• Supports major consumer-facing live events, including Olympics, Super Bowl and other selected high-traffic events across NBC.

Responsibilities

• Software engineer with strong iOS and tvOS experience responsible for architecting and building performant and scalable video streaming applications
• Write clean, concise, and readable code that follows common design patterns
• Implement design and business requirements with a focus on detail and performance
• Adhere to Apple ecosystem best practices across devices and operating systems
• Participate in code reviews to ensure scalability and adherence to best practices
• Write unit tests to ensure stability and functionality of code
• Triage and fix bugs
• Identify inefficiencies and provide recommendations
• Remain informed with changes in technology and service requirements
• Continuously learn, improve, and optimise processes and ways of working
• Collaborate with team members, product, project management and quality assurance to define, create, enhance, maintain, and deploy applications
• Work closely with team members through code reviews, knowledge transfers and recommendations to further boost the overall skillset of the team
• Develop prototypes and proof of concept projects to test new technologies and ideas
