WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as hard gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMM’s to conduct efficient and accurate part measurement.
- Assist in the validation and verification of new product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Whether assigned or self-chosen, utilize existing problem-solving skills perpetually in contribution towards continuous improvement efforts in our manufacturing and assembly areas.
- Perform detailed process audits and drive targeted improvement actions through coaching of others or direct ownership of the resolution.
- Provide technical support to engineering and production teams to ensure compliance to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely data and other records for work performed.
- Where skill gaps exist, learn through training or OJT, processes such as calibration, CMM programming, and quality system auditing.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Prior experience in a similar quality, manufacturing, or engineering technician role.
- 3-5 years of practical application of GD&T standards in an automotive, commercial, or aerospace manufacturing facility performing surface plate based or similar dimensional inspection.
- Proficiency using a wide range of measurement tools.
- Ability to interpret part drawings, material, and engineering specifications.
- A strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO16949, ISO31000)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Six-Sigma, Lean, TPS exposure preferred.
- Attention to detail and deep commitment to continual improvement.
- Effective verbal, written and digital communicator.
- Highly collaborative, with firm team-building approach.
- Experience with process capability tools and/or statistical analysis (preferred).
- Ability to write part inspection programs using PC-DMIS/Hexagon software (highly desired).
