What is the job about?
We at Grundfos USA are looking for a Technical Sales Manager specialized in Dosing (chemical feed) systems to join our Industry Sales team.
As a Technical Sales Manager, your role is to increase Grundfos’ dosing pump and disinfection equipment market share in the Industrial Performance Unit through target markets or accounts; assist in the management of key accounts to secure and preserve long-term purchasing agreements, and report specific business, market, and industry information.
You will be responsible for a defined geographic area within the US and focus on a set of customers, market segment, dosing/disinfection product group, within the Industrial Key Account and OEM team. You will establish and build relationships with target decision makers and serves as a value-added resource for the Customer and Industry PU. The TSM reports to the Area Sales Manager (ASM) and their specific focus will be on the North American region for both OEM/Key Accounts and Distribution channels.
This position reports directly to the Senior Area Sales Manager and will operate remotely out any location in the US.
Your main responsibilities:
Selling:
- Work with end users, OEMs, and distribution partners to understand the current market landscape via sales calls, trainings, trade shows, and professional groups within the targeted market.
- Bring added value and resources to the sales process resulting in increased market share by being highly educated in target markets, products, and applications.
- Develop good relationships with key decision makers at existing and target accounts in coordination and collaboration with local sales management.
- Conducting necessary due diligence to understand the total sales opportunity for Grundfos dosing and disinfection products in key accounts.
- Proactively endeavor to maximize Grundfos’ presence in focused territories by ensuring that all possible Grundfos dosing and disinfection products are applied.
Business Development:
- Understand the competitive market position of Grundfos dosing and disinfection products in the industry’s target markets and contribute to ensuring that the most advantageous price structure is put forward to maximize CTR and customer value in conjunction with the Regional Product Manager.
- Contribute to market share research. Partnering with the Area Sales Manager and the IND Demand Planning team and use this information to determine the most strategically advantageous customers, markets, products and/or industries to engage and focus on.
- Participate in market specific network meetings and interfaces with key product and other management personnel from sister companies and the global BD Team.
- Maintain and grow a pipeline for all dosing and disinfection opportunities.
Technical Support:
- Act as field support for local sales management and will be expected to travel to install sites to perform necessary activities to strengthen the Grundfos brand within the dosing and disinfection market. This includes conducting troubleshooting, start up, application review, Lunch-and-Learns, and training.
- Act as an expert and consultant for end users, OEMs, and distribution partners to ensure their confidence in Grundfos dosing and disinfection products. This will include technical support, application support, and pricing analysis.
- Provide or facilitate training on Grundfos products & applications, online tools & processes, sales tools, and sales processes, including Value Selling, to our OEM and channel partners.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- 3 years of dosing pumps (chemical feed pumps) and disinfection equipment experience.
- Experience in technical sales.
- Familiar with the chemical feed market in your area on in the country.
- A valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- The ability to collaborative effectively with colleagues.
- Possess good verbal & written communication skills in the English language.
- The ability to present to, and train, an audience.
- The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels & in all different types of environments.
