About the job posting:

  • Filling for up to two or more positions (TBD)
  • This is a 12-month, 40 hours per week position (Note: There may be schedule flexibility for less than 12 months and/or 40 hours, determined by business needs.) Schedule to be discussed during interview.
  • The position is primarily located in our General Medicine clinic but may have opportunities to work and/or rotate in other University Health Services clinics as determined by business needs.
     

Purpose

Provide primary medical care to the student population at the University of Texas at Austin.
 

Responsibilities

  • Provides primary medical healthcare services to the student population at the University of Texas at Austin as a University Health Services (UHS) General Medicine Provider
  • Participates in committees, policy revisions, and peer review
  • Participates in the overall goals of the organization
  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Completion of ACGME Residency Program in the United States
  • Current Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas, without pending or current disciplinary action
  • Two or more years of experience in providing primary medical care to patients in an ambulatory setting, including use of electronic medical records
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than the required years of experience
  • Two or more years of experience in providing medical care to young adult age patients, preferably in a college health clinic
  • Experience with medical supervision of advanced practice registered nurses and/or physician assistants in a clinic setting
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent professional demeanor
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferably Point and Click
  • Familiarity in working in an integrated behavioral health clinic setting
  • Experience working with college-age populations
     

Salary Range

$185,000 per year FTE

(Note: Salary will be less if schedule is less than 12 months and/or 40 hours per week.)

Work Shift

  • 40 hours per week (to be discussed during interview)
  • Clinics hours: 8AM – 5PM; work hours to be discussed
  • Some evening or weekend hours, as needed
