S&OP Manager

OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic S&OP Manager to join our growing team.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The scope of this role is to drive the improvement and standardization of S&OP processes within Perfetti Van Melle for USA and Canada.   This role involves the effective deployment of the Global S&OP Playbook with a key focus on establishing governance and standards of all areas of the process.   This includes cross-functional calibration and analyzing the relevant information necessary to prepare the information pack for each cycle and by proactively communicating with, and bringing insight to, the multiple business leaders and step facilitators involved in the process.

This role is also responsible for ensuring that all parties are aware of the key business issues, reconciliation and recommendations developed and kept informed of decisions made throughout the process. This role will be integral in the evolution of our S&OP process and deployment across the PVM business.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Reconcile key business issues, propose recommendations, and prepare information packs to support Integrated Reconciliation (IR) and Executive S&OP (ES&OP).
•    Ensure IR and ES&OP participants focus on business issues driving organizational strategy.
•    Collaborate cross-functionally to review and resolve monthly cycle issues or escalate as needed.
•    Challenge business processes and maintain rigor within S&OP.
•    Ensure ES&OP participants make key tactical, strategic, and financial decisions; delegate other decisions appropriately.
•    Communicate Regional ES&OP outputs and submit to Global Processes.
•    Facilitate decision-making by presenting alternative scenarios for demand/supply, financial, and resource issues.
•    Prepare information packages and manage action plans and decisions from the S&OP process.
•    Create S&OP minutes and documents, clearly conveying key conclusions to stakeholders for alignment and accountability.
•    Provide leadership and expertise in S&OP, showcasing business acumen, analytical skills, and problem-solving across scenarios.
•    Develop long-term models and scenario plans to anticipate capacity impacts, including network and asset optimization.
•    Conduct what-if analysis to create alternative demand and supply scenarios, enabling risk mitigation and revenue growth.
•    Innovate new tools and capabilities to enhance the S&OP program, leveraging technology and best practices.
•    Establish and monitor key metrics, regularly reporting insights and identifying areas for improvement.
•    Demonstrate strong communication, continuous improvement thinking, and financial acumen.
•    Lead initiatives to enhance S&OP effectiveness and efficiency through process improvements.
•    Establish/revise key metrics for S&OP, conduct analysis, prepare reports/presentations.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field. MBA/PMP preferred.
• 10+ years of business operations experience, including 5+ years in S&OP and IBP.
• Proven leadership and management skills across organizational levels.
• Strong analytical skills, data-driven decision-making experience.
• Expertise in problem-solving, communication, negotiation, planning, and leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and data visualization tools.
• Excellent project management, handling multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Adaptable in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Effective at influencing across diverse organizational levels and functions.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Experience in developing scorecards and leveraging KPIs for business improvements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, presenting complex data clearly.
