Working closely with Lyft’s in-house counsel and paralegal team, you will be responsible for investigating and responding to claims; conducting factual investigations; attending hearings and fact finding conferences; supporting administrative tracking of case related matters; and helping to keep Lyft’s employment and litigation operations efficient and organized.&nbsp; You should be a self-starter but able to take direction easily and with a good attitude. Come join the fun at Lyft!</p> <h2>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>Works closely with Lyft's in-house counsel Litigation &amp; Employment team to support administrative, pre-litigation and litigation matters, as well as external legal requests.</li> <li>Manages, tracks, calendars, and files responses to claims.</li> <li>Independently conducts factual investigations to respond to administrative claims, demand letters, and other litigation and arbitration matters, and assist with drafting responses for these matters.&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare memoranda and summaries of factual research and make recommendations to supervising attorneys.</li> <li>Assist with gathering documents and information to respond to discovery or information requests.&nbsp;</li> <li>Complete court or agency filings and attend court appearances or agency hearings.</li> <li>Thinks proactively about improving processes to help Lyft’s legal operations continue to scale effectively with incredible growth.</li> <li>Liaises with other teams within the company and external parties to ensure efficient workflow and handling of requests.</li> <li>Provides legal support to in-house attorneys, paralegals, and various internal business partners to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.</li> <li>Helps define procedures and practices within Legal to promote efficient workflows and handling of legal requests.</li> <li>Maintains overall governance of existing processes and strategies.</li> <li>Liaises with internal and external counsel and contacts on a day-to-day basis.</li> <li>Leads projects and tasks within a broader legal strategy in collaboration with other team members.</li> </ul> <h2>Experience:</h2> <ul> <li>Note that a JD or Paralegal certificate is not required for this position.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant legal experience.&nbsp; Law firm experience preferred.</li> <li>Experience handling discovery in complex litigation matters.</li> <li>Ability to obtain notary license
