The Director, Vendor Management works as liaison between vendors and organization. The Director, Vendor Management requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

The Leader of the Global Supplier Services (GSS) team will provide Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) vendor strategic consultation, and support across multiple front-end and back-office teams within Consumer & Provider Services and Solutions (CPSS), supporting enterprise initiatives while collaborating with key internal stakeholders such as: Enterprise Procurement Supplier Management (EPSM) and Risk Management. This role will be primarily responsible for the design, ideation, and implementation of GSS strategic capabilities and team which will drive value across CPSS-enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • The leader will be accountable for establishing the GSS team that will deliver best practices in partnership with their line of business stakeholders and partners, while anchoring the coordination of all CPSS vendor partnerships with the goal of putting Humana in the best position for negotiations, evaluations, governance, staffing/work allocations, and strategic initiative optimization.
  • This position will be an aggregator, looking across all contracts, business priorities and issues, driving the best outcome for Humana at large.
  • Development of the GSS Hub that will include data, insights, and relevant detail and artifacts to help inform stakeholders and decisions. 
  • Effectively looking end to end and identifying capabilities and synergies that can be pulled through to improve the customer experience, efficiencies, reduction in rework/friction points, and optimize costs.
  • Key business leader working alongside EPSM and Risk Management, helping to identify, strengthen, enable, and drive supplier value generation across the enterprise.
  • Will serve as a trusted and critical resource within Humana working across business lines. Including Humana Military, CenterWell, and Insurance Services.
  • Point of escalation to address Supplier issues across CPSS.
  • Monitor external factors to minimize risk (i.e., global impacts, cyber/risk, mergers & acquisitions, and venture capitalist activity).
  • Support various tactical activities (as determined with key LOB stakeholders) across Enrollment, Claims, Resolution, Claims Cost Management, and Provider Contracting teams:
  • Align team processes to add value and support of overall organizational goals or strategy and provide on-going oversight and monitoring of team performance to well defined metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • College degree or 8 years equivalent experience
  • 4 or more years of management experience
  • Progressive operational experience in a leadership and strategy role
  • Ability to translate a vision into a strategy while developing the operating rigor to execute
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence across the enterprise
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively across many stakeholders and levels of leadership
  • Ability to hold others accountable and maintain a professional work environment
  • Experience with prioritizing and balancing multiple responsibilities and projects
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise-wide accountability in a shared service capacity
  • Program Management experience leading large scale, multiple stakeholder initiatives
  • Extensive experience within the outsourcing BPO category
  • Strong oral, and presentation skills which would include negotiating, aligning, influencing, and collaborating across many stakeholders and functional teams
  • Skilled in PowerPoint and data visualization with the ability to tell the story, demonstrate vision, & translate complex data into meaningful action.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of budgets and financial responsibilities, including leading or contributing to initiatives that have positive financial outcomes.

This position may require up to 20% overnight travel.
