Senior Director, U.S. Vaccines Strategy & Operational Enablement Lead

ROLE PURPOSE
The US Vaccines Strategy & Operational Enablement (OE) Team plays a critical role within the Vaccines franchise, acting as the control tower for business leaders around the organization’s aspiration, strategy and operational initiatives. The group will continuously deliver priority insights required for strategic decision making, lead/ support key commercial and cross-functional initiatives, coordinate critical Vaccines franchise processes and advance our People & Culture priorities.
The US Vaccines Strategy & Operational Enablement Lead will manage a team of several individuals to provide comprehensive business support to the franchise, across four crucial priority areas – Portfolio Strategy, People & Culture, Pull Through support and Operational Excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Strategy & Future Planning: Manage U.S. Vaccines Portfolio Strategy, bridging current portfolio with future pipeline opportunities to strengthen long-term leadership
- Own and evolve the long-term portfolio vision and strategic roadmap for U.S. Vaccines, ensuring clear linkage between in-market assets and future pipeline opportunities.
- Proactively monitor internal and external market dynamics, scientific advancements, policy changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategic direction.
- Lead development of an integrated portfolio implementation roadmap in partnership with cross-functional workstream leaders, establishing governance to drive disciplined execution.
- Collaborate with CSI, BD and other cross functional partners to help align scientific strategy with commercial priorities and future growth opportunities.
- Orchestrate near- and mid-term portfolio prioritization across in-market brands to ensure aligned execution, optimized sequencing, and maximum enterprise value.
- Partner with Finance and Marketing to support dynamic resource allocation, investment trade-offs, and in-year budget management across teams aligned to portfolio priorities.
People & Culture: Actively lead our people empowerment priorities and culture priorities
- Oversee the Vaccines Colleague Advisory Board priorities and initiatives
- Roll out colleague initiatives to support advancement of the people & culture priorities outlined in the Vaccines portfolio strategy
- Partner with PX and Vaccines LT on talent planning initiatives
- Organize townhalls and other colleague connectivity events
- Manage VacciNation awards and other special LT-sponsored organizational initiatives
Pull Through: Deliver insights, thought partnership and enablement support to pull through brand strategies to maximize portfolio performance
- Work in consultation with the Leadership Team and enabling partners, e.g., GCA to identify data-driven strategic recommendations to maximize business opportunities based on brand and/or customer insights and set priorities and opportunities across the US Vaccines franchise
- Manage plans for the Vaccines Win Room together with key partners, e.g., Contracting Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Market Access, Legal, Medical, to enable LT to make agile and quick decisions
- Collaborate with CEP and Business Operations on key US Vaccines initiatives (e.g. POAs, Deployment, RAISE initiative, Next Best Action, Incentive Plans aligned to strategy)
- Work closely with peers and with data/report providers in Enabling/ Platform functions to ensure data and reporting needs are met
- In collaboration with the CMO Vaccines Data Strategy team, shape annual Vaccines commercial Data Strategy agenda to ensure focus on highest impact franchise priorities & appropriate resource allocation
Operational Excellence: Provide comprehensive business operations support to help shape & execute key organizational priorities with a continuous improvement mindset
- Orchestrate the annual strategic planning cycle for Vaccines – Strategic plans, operating plans, tactical plans
- Promotional Efficiency initiative (DOPE) – Lead governance to align marketing resource deployment to CFCs with franchise priorities, address top CFC requests, reduce waste, and ensure we only create resources that result in high levels of utilization
- Manage annual LT calendar and agendas for LT and Vaccines Governance Forum meetings to maximize organizational efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare high-quality presentations, talking points, internal communications and correspondence to effectively convey key messages to intended audience
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS Degree required
- Min 12+ years of previous pharmaceutical / biotech marketing/sales experience preferred with at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experien
