Position Summary:

Ag Express Electronics is seeking an experienced and driven Harness Production Manager to oversee daily operations within our wire harness production department. This role is responsible for aligning production output with customer expectations, ensuring quality standards, and developing a high-performing team culture. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing leadership, excellent planning and communication skills, and a proactive mindset grounded in continuous improvement.

This position is located at our Sulphur Springs, Indiana facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Leadership & Operations Oversight

  • Manage all phases of harness production operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
  • Ensure the availability of labor, materials, and equipment to support daily production needs.
  • Monitor and improve production KPIs, efficiency, and workflow performance.

Team Development & Accountability

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate team members, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.
  • Foster a safe, accountable, and collaborative production environment.
  • Manage workforce planning, including shift assignments and staffing needs.

Scheduling & Resource Planning

  • Create and execute production schedules aligned with customer demand and inventory targets.
  • Coordinate with procurement and planning teams to ensure timely availability of components.
  • Adapt schedules as needed in response to order changes or operational challenges.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the central point of contact between production, quality, sales, procurement, and shipping.
  • Partner with engineering and planning teams to support product changes or new introductions.

Process Improvement & Training

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Lead team training efforts and reinforce best practices through SOPs and documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams with a focus on empowerment, accountability, and results. 
  • Exceptional decision-making, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. 
  • Experience interpreting cable wiring diagrams and schematics. 
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and quality standards. 
  • Knowledge of various wire harness tools preferred, including manual and pneumatic tools. 

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business management, operations, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing leadership, preferably in wire harness or cable assembly.  Ability to interpret cable wiring diagrams and schematics is advantageous.
  • Certifications (Preferred): IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
