Outreach Specialist & Transfer Undergraduate Admission Counselor

Position Summary

Concordia University Wisconsin seeks applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Outreach Specialist & Transfer Undergraduate Admission Counselor for the CUAA Campus. This admission counselor will play a vital role in attracting a growing number of new transfer traditional undergraduate students to the CUAA campus & assist in developing strategic business partnerships in Michigan as well as academic program articulation agreements with regional community colleges. This individual will work closely with the Traditional Undergraduate Lead Admission Counselor (CUAA), the Director of Strategic Business Partnerships, and the Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admission to attract a diverse and talented student body and ensure a seamless admission process. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of the higher education landscape, strong initiative, and a passion for student success. The role also involves significant collaboration with other university departments and external organizations including community colleges. This position reports to the Director Traditional Undergraduate Admission.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Student Recruitment:

• Serve as the primary contact for all undergraduate transfer student inquiries on the CUAA campus, assisting students from point of initial inquiry to successful enrollment in their first student term at CUAA.
• Represent the university at various recruitment events, open houses, conferences and webinars, especially those focused on post-traditional student recruits.
• Utilize digital and social media platforms for outreach efforts.
• Assist the Director with creating, editing, and purchasing of promotional material (cutsheets, brochures, and other promo items) and website.
• Have a general understanding of all program offerings (TUG & PTG) and the available delivery methods.

Admission Processing:

• Ensure compliance with university policies and regulations in all admission activities.
• Collaborate with academic departments, financial aid, and other campus partners to create an integrated admissions experience.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Strategic Business Partnerships:

• Develop & deepen relationships with external strategic business partners and community colleges
• Serve as campus liaison and representative to Community Colleges and point person on campus for articulation agreements
• Assist Strategic Business Partnership team with the establishment of meaningful partnerships in the Michigan area specifically with healthcare organizations that leads to enrollment in CUWAA healthcare programs
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Outstanding communication skills - written and oral, especially public speaking
• Exceptional phone, text, and email skills and comfort with a large volume of inbound and outbound calls, emails, and texts
• Understanding current university admission processes and requirements, university programs, majors, courses, developments in education, and financial aid
• Experience with admission CRM software including SLATE and Banner
• Must be capable of collaborating successfully with a broad range of stakeholders, interacting positively with a diverse population, thinking creatively, and working independently
• Ability to represent well the image of academic programs and promote them using a full range of marketing, promotional and social media techniques and strategies
• Knowledge and skill in use of computer and software common to the academic and office setting (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.)
• Ability to work some weekends and evenings; overnight travel may be required
• Ability to come into the office and attend events representing CUWAA (Concordia University Wisconsin Ann Arbor) (this is not a fully remote position)
