Job Description

SENIOR PRODUCER - BRAND

Position in a Nutshell:

The PXP Senior Producer (brand) supports the clients and ideals of their creative lead agency, all under the vision of their Head of Production. Reports to a SVP/Group EP or VP EP, depending on creative agency department needs & structure.

The Senior Producer is responsible for approaching all projects with a creative mindset with a focus on adding value to the work. In addition to fundamental producer skills (listed below), to be on the Production team requires solid critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as a passion for guiding creative ideas from brief through project launch. The ideal candidate for this position will have ambitions of work that pushes creative and technological limits and experience in delivering a variety of integrated projects completed on time, within budget and to the highest level of creative standards.

Primary Responsibilities/ Functions

  • Responsible for excellence in all day-to-day aspects of production including scoping and ballparking creative concepts, building detailed project schedules, managing project scope, researching and securing production resources, quality controlling all deliverables, maintaining project documentation and communication with holistic project teams
  • Able to manage multiple, often concurrent projects, ensure error free, on time and on budget productions all while meeting or exceeding creative objectives
  • Trusted to lead workload independently, responsible for managing up to Executive Producer when needed or appropriate
  • Utilizes industry expertise to select and negotiate of all production vendor partnerships (within The PXP studio or external) based on both scope/budget/timeline of project and which partner is best suited to execute the creative vision
  • Has a deep understanding of compliance and client guidelines across the lead creative agency they support
  • Leverage their valuable experience to proactively predict issues and guide the team away from avoidable and unnecessary challenges
  • Responsible for supporting and participating in our efforts in cultivating a diverse, equal and inclusive culture of production within our work.
  • Communicates proactively with Creative, Account Services, Business Affairs and Media partners on all aspects of the production including milestones, deliverables and due dates to keep the production process flowing smoothly
  • Able to serve as a client-facing member of the Production team, able to articulate all aspects of production plans to clients of varying degrees of knowledge
  • Able to explain talent language and defend numbers to both Agency and Client, while also staying on top of the latest talent information coming from SAG.
  • Partners closely with the Business Affairs Manager to understand and review final numbers for estimate
  • Contribute to the elevation of the creative product through actively participating with teams upstream in the creative process, inspiring, educating and supporting the creative effort throughout
  • Responsible for building critical relationships and maintaining the agency’s reputation and standard of excellence with the internal and external production industry as well as keeping an active knowledge of cross-discipline external partners
  • Stays on top of industry trends, craft-makers, techniques, directors, photographers, and new technologies and utilizes expertise and passion for production to inspire and educate the Department and Agency overall in an effort to elevate the lead creative agency’s creative product
  • Demonstrate leadership traits by proactively looking for ways to contribute to the culture of the Production Department as well as opportunities to educate and inspire both their teams and those around them
  • Directly reports to a specific Executive Producer but is available and able to work collaboratively on any account across the lead creative agency depending on skills, need, talent fit.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage and mentor Producers and Associate Producers when necessary in all the above categories
