The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for treating assigned patients including obtaining accurate prescription, reviewing charts adequately and documenting according to departmental policy.Education & Training:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Experience:
Three (3) internships/affiliations satisfactorily completed.
Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current PTA licensure by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy. Current
AHA BLS certification. Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination
Center of Excellence Policy. Must obtain and maintain required stroke
education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Primary Stroke
Center/Acute Stroke Ready Designation Policy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Utilizes a variety of therapy equipment to include ultrasound, electrical
stimulation, whirlpool, iontophoresis, TEN's units, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy,
Biodex, biofeedback, traction, and exercise equipment.
Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.
