Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Combat Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in San Diego, CA as a trainer and functional lead on the COMNAVSURFPAC Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT), providing timely direct support to ships and enhancing shipboard proficiency and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Conduct comprehensive material condition assessments, review, and assess combat systems programs and preventive and corrective maintenance procedures. 
  • Provide classroom and deck plate, on-the-job training to Sailors on proper and safe operations, maintenance, and management of combat systems onboard ships homeported in San Diego, Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and Japan. 
  • Functional Lead for four Combat Systems Trainers
  • Making a positive difference and impact on thousands of Sailors in the Pacific Fleet!

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Over 20 years of supervisory experience in analyses, information system operations, and implementation of technical projects
  •  Supervisory combat systems experience with Navy surface ship Combat Systems maintenance processes
  •  Extensive experience in one or more of the following positions: Systems Test Officer (STO); Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM); Combat Systems Officer of the Watch (CSOOW) on multiple AEGIS and SSDS ships
  •  Extensive experience in Navy Ship Combat Systems Operations on multiple ships (AEGIS and SSDS)
  •  Maintenance/training staff experience (e.g., Immediate Superior in Charge (ISIC), Type Commander (TYCOM), or Afloat Training Group)
  •  In-depth knowledge of Navy ship depot level Combat Systems maintenance processes
  •  In-depth knowledge of the theory and workings of surface ship Combat Systems maintenance processes
  • Up to 25% travel can be expected or as required.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance required. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to maneuver on deck plates aboard ships in port, to include climbing ladders as necessary.
  • Must be able to observe and report.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $71,400-$119,000. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, ManTech invests in it’s employees beyond just compensation.
