Director, Income Tracking (AV)

Every day, BMG collects various income streams and usage data from all over the world. It is checked, then double-checked so our clients are paid fully, accurately and on time. That’s the job of BMG’s Income Tracking department. BMG’s Incoming Tracking team has a 360° view of the music business and works closely with a wide remit of departments and foreign affiliate offices. This role provides the opportunity to gain invaluable exposure into the workings of a global music business and all its income streams. As Director of AV Income Tracking, you will detect missing income and work towards recovering it for the audiovisual catalogs of BMG clients like Netflix and others. First and foremost, your day-to-day workings will accede to BMG’s directive of fairness and transparency to its clients.

What You’ll Be Doing.
- Conduct income analysis, comparing income for shows and films against usage data and historical earnings.
- Build out tracking controls and processes for audiovisual income streams.
- Support the development of analytical tools and dashboards needed for your role.
- Report on income tracking efforts and results.
- Establish relationships with PROs.
- Inquiry income gaps with income sources and pro-actively drive for income recovery.
- Work closely with other departments (AV Copyright, Royalty, LBA, AV Business Development) and foreign affiliates to address AV tracking matters.
Must Haves.
- Demonstrated experience with royalty accounting, copyright, income tracking or revenue assurance in the music industry.
- Proficient understanding of cue sheets and PRO accounting of audiovisuals.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to deep-dive and learn various aspects of BMG’s income streams, especially those related to audiovisuals and video-on-demand platforms.
- Enthusiasm to actively shape the department’s tools and processes.<
